SH047 Bamford D-300 (03/2025)

£895.00

Quick facts

Description

Bamford Watch Department was founded by George Bamford and originally made its name customising high‑end watches from brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. The first time Bamford landed on my radar was through an early Bremont collaboration, blacked‑out, very distinctive and very, very cool.

The D300 is part of Bamford’s move into producing its own watches rather than modifying others. It sticks to a straightforward dive watch format but applies that same design thinking. The big difference here is the case. It uses a ceramic case rather than steel, which gives it a very different feel on the wrist. Lighter, harder and far more resistant to everyday wear, it changes the character of the watch more than you might expect. The design itself is clean and legible and power comes from a Sellita automatic movement, keeping things simple and reliable. It’s different, but oh so cool. A bit like a Saab convertible when everyone else has a BMW.
