Description
The Farer Aqua Compressor Endeavour is proof that Farer can do restraint just as well as colour. While many of the brand's watches lean into bold palettes and playful details, the Endeavour takes a more traditional approach, drawing inspiration from the Super Compressor dive watches of the 1960s and 1970s.
The 41.5mm stainless steel cushion case combines brushed and polished surfaces, creating a watch that feels both vintage-inspired and thoroughly modern. At 12.5mm thick, it retains the reassuring presence of a capable dive watch while remaining comfortable on the wrist. The twin-crown layout is a hallmark of classic compressor-style divers, with the upper bronze crown used to set the time and the lower steel crown operating the internal rotating dive bezel.
Farer's attention to detail is evident throughout the watch. The bronze crown adds a splash of character without overwhelming the design, while the internal bezel keeps the profile clean and uncluttered compared to a traditional external dive bezel. A double-curved sapphire crystal completes the package, adding depth and distortion at the dial's edge in a way that feels true to the vintage watches that inspired it.
The matte black dial is the most understated in the Aqua Compressor range, giving the watch a versatility that many dive watches lack. Applied steel markers and the Arabic twelve are filled with vintage-toned Super-LumiNova, while the hands and seconds indicator use a contrasting lume colour to aid legibility. The result is a dial that feels purposeful and highly legible without appearing overtly utilitarian.
Power comes from the ETA 2824-2 Elaboré automatic movement. Farer opted for the non-date version, preserving the symmetry of the dial and avoiding unnecessary complication. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement features a custom Farer rotor and provides the robust reliability that has made the ETA 2824 one of the most respected workhorse calibres in modern watchmaking.
The watch comes fitted to a Farer rubber strap and is also supplied with the matching Farer stainless steel bracelet, allowing it to switch easily between serious dive watch and everyday sports watch duties. As a package, it captures everything that makes Farer appealing: thoughtful design, strong specifications and just enough individuality to stand out from the crowd without shouting about it.
