Description
The Smiths Everest PRS-25 has become one of the best-known watches produced by Time Factors, despite being available only in small batches and often selling out within minutes. Drawing inspiration from the Smiths watches associated with the 1953 Everest expedition, the PRS-25 combines vintage field-watch styling with modern construction and has built a strong following among enthusiasts looking for a compact, no-nonsense everyday watch. The design takes clear cues from the classic Rolex Explorer formula, but has developed an identity of its own through years of continuous refinement and enthusiastic community support.
The modern Everest PRS-25 is housed in a 36mm stainless steel case and is designed with simplicity and legibility as its priorities. A black dial, luminous Arabic numerals and indices, Mercedes-style hands and a sapphire crystal create a familiar tool-watch layout that feels rooted in mid-century expedition watches without being a direct recreation of any single model. At 43.5mm lug-to-lug and 11.4mm thick, it wears compactly while retaining a reassuringly solid presence on the wrist.
Power comes from the Miyota 9039 automatic movement, a reliable high-beat calibre operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The watch features a screw-down crown, screw-back case, anti-magnetic protection and 100 metres of water resistance, making it considerably more robust than its vintage appearance suggests. Combined with its straightforward design and restrained dimensions, the Everest PRS-25 remains one of the most popular modern interpretations of the classic British expedition watch.
