Junghans is a well‑established German watchmaker with a long and credible history, best known for its functional design and technical innovation. The Mega series sits at the brand’s more technical end and represents Junghans’ early leadership in radio‑controlled timekeeping.
This is a battery‑powered Junghans Mega World model combining analogue hands with a digital display. It uses radio‑controlled technology to maintain extremely high accuracy by synchronising with atomic time signals. Once set, the watch automatically corrects itself, removing the need for manual time adjustment in normal use.
At its core is a quartz movement regulated by a crystal oscillator, already highly accurate on its own. The watch then receives radio signals from atomic clocks to keep the displayed time perfectly synchronised. It updates automatically for time zones and daylight saving changes, making it particularly practical for travel and everyday wear. The result is a watch that prioritises accuracy and usability over mechanical complexity.
Condition and performance
The watch is in very good condition with visible but light signs of wear.
Comes boxed but with no papers other than the receipt from a battery replacement.
